Shallotte, NC - Frederick Allen "Freddy" Hewett, born on October 12, 1950, died peacefully at Brunswick Health and Rehab Center on December 22, 2023. He was a son of Rufus Hewett and Eva Pearl Stanley Hewett and brother of Eddie Hewett all previously deceased.

He is survived by sisters, Donna Hewett Prince of Shallotte NC, and Kathryn Hewett Owens of Supply NC. Freddy leaves his wife, Diane Hickman Hewett, married for 52 years. He is survived by his daughter, Leah Hewett McGuire of Raleigh, NC, and son, Dr. Frederick Allen Hewett II, and wife Cathryn of Raleigh. Freddy's memory will also live on through his grandchildren, Sydney and Preston Hewett, Molly, and Jane McGuire.

A remarkable athlete, Freddy was an all-conference defensive end for Shallotte High School. He spent his career as a lab technician at DuPont for 30 years. Freddy enjoyed Golf, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

At his request, no public services will be held.
