Ferris Bryan Stanton, 68, of Leland, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care’s Brunswick House following a period of declining health. He battled cancer bravely with strong faith and spirit.

Bryan was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, on November 20, 1957. He was one of four children born to the late Arthur R. Stanton II and Ella Sue Bullock Stanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Susan Stanton.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Bryan was a devoted member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church in Scotts Hill, North Carolina, and an active participant in his Wednesday Night Men’s Bible Study group. His faith guided the way he lived, served others, and cared for his family and community.

Bryan was a hardworking, determined businessman who, alongside his loving wife, Tracy, owned and operated, a successful business, Cape Fear Building & Maintenance. Inc. He was respected by those who knew him for his strong work ethic, compassionate heart, and willingness to help others.

Above all, Bryan loved his family deeply. He took great pride in being a husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and he treasured the time spent with those he loved. His family will remember him for his steadfast presence, generous spirit, and the love he gave so freely.

Bryan was also an avid outdoorsman who found great enjoyment in hunting and fishing. He had a lifelong interest in history and for many years, he served as Camp Commander with the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 216 and devoted many years to participating in Civil War reenactments. Through these activities, he formed enduring friendships and shared his appreciation for history, tradition, and fellowship with others.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Tracy M. Stanton; son, Hunter Stanton; daughter, Erin Stanton Clarkson and husband, Matthew; brother, Arthur Randolph Stanton III; sister, Donna Stanton; grandchildren, Phoenix Stanton and John Clarkson; and an expected grandchild, Benjamin Ferris Clarkson. Also, surviving are his stepchildren; Nathaniel Hinson and wife, Allisun; step grandson, Rune Hinson; Devon Hinson and partner Nancylee.

A celebration of life service is being planned for October 3, 2026 at 1:00pm at 2440 Cedar Hill Rd, Navassa NC 28451. The family requests with gratitude that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.
