Emily Rae Barnhill Millard, 91, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in the Lower Cape Fear Life Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Atkinson, NC on January 31, 1932, Emily was a daughter of the late Willie Don and Ella Lee Wallace Barnhill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clyde W. Millard, grandsons, Bradford Ridgeway, Dillon O'Neil, brothers, S.L. Barnhill, Willie James Barnhill, Carl Barnhill, Paul Barnhill, sisters, Lois Mehelko, Doris Evanowich, and Grace Lockamy.

Emily was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who guided, loved and raised her family.

Survivors include a son, Barry Millard, (Sherry); three daughters, Betty Ridgeway, (the late Riley Ridgeway), Debbie Baines (Michael), Frances Todd (Donald); a sister, Gladys Burlson; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2023, in the Old Shallotte Baptist Church with The Reverend Landis Lancaster, The Reverend Rory Thigpen officiating. Music is being provided by a special friend, Albert Hughes. Interment will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday at the church and at other times from the home of Debbie & Michael Baines, 381 Green Bay Road, Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

Active pallbearers will be Chad Millard, Bubba Todd, Jason Todd, Jessica Ridgeway, Roland "Boo" Patterson and Chuck Nance.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Courtney Millard, Stacey Ridgeway, Sonja Nance, and Nicki Patterson.

The family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Emily's name to Gideons International at POB 834, Shallotte, NC 28459 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, and mail to Sudan Shriners Childrens Hospital Fund, PO Drawer 12829, New Bern, NC 28561.
