Elwood Ballard, Jr., 85, of Bolivia, NC went to be with The Lord on the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Elwood was born on July 17, 1941, and was a son of the late Elwood Ballard, Sr. and Attlee Lewis Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Beck and a nephew, Robert Beck.

He was a longtime and active member of Antioch Baptist Church. Elwood will forever be remembered as a devoted Christian and someone who never met a stranger. He also retired from Food Lion stores after eighteen years.

Surviving are a brother, Landie Ballard, of Bolivia; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Ballard Cox (Bradley), and Landie Ballard Jr (Amanda), Brianna Ballard, Alyssa Hall, Matthew Ballard, Robin Johnson (Donas), Ava Beck, Joshua Beck; and many other family members.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Antioch Baptist Church with The Reverend Brian Raleigh officiating.
