Edward (Ed) Ronald Raulsome passed away on June 29, 2024 at the age of 84 following a time of declined health. He was born in Greenpoint, N.Y. to Edward Michael Raulsome and Veronica Bero Raulsome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Allan Raulsome. Survivors included his wife, Barbara of 47 years; son, James Edward Raulsome of Bremerton, Washington; daughter, Sandra Karen Youngs of Newport News, Virginia along with her husband Kelvin; sister, Denise Guarenti of New York; 5 wonderful grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also, had wonderful in-laws, nieces and nephews and many good friends. Edward graduated from Jamaica High School, N.Y. and went on to serve in the Army National Guard for the next 8 years as a Sergeant. Then he went on to work for Grumman Aerospace on Long Island, N.Y. for 30 years as a Foreman on the Apollo Lunar Module Program, and as an Electrician on the Navy's F-14 "Tom Cat" fighter plane. He later became a Material Planner until his retirement. Additionally he served as a Sergeant in the Parks Police Department for the Town of Brookhaven. Throughout his life Ed was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, traveling and visiting other countries, drawing, woodworking, tinkering with cars and trucks and his love for coffee. Many people referred to him as "Mr. Coffee". He was actively involved in various organizations including the Masonic Faternity, Scottish Rites, Shriners, Civil Air Patrol, VFW Auxiliary at Post 7288, President and Vice President of the Northrop Grumman Retiree Club of the Carolinas and a member of the Village Point Methodist Church, Shallotte, NC where he participated in the church choir. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 15th, 1:00 PM at the Village Point Methodist Church located at 1392 Village Point Road, Shallotte, NC and another one on Saturday, August 17th, 1:00 PM at the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #6 located at 233 Francis Street, Williamsburg, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to either the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Attn: Processing Center, PO Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Centers, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. Michael J. Fulwood Funeral Service of Ocean Isle Beach, NC is taking care of the cremation and serving the family.
