Douglas P. Eldredge, aka, "Grandpa Doug", passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023.

Doug, the eldest of three siblings, was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sally (Eldredge) Mushenko, and his brother, Bobby Eldredge. An avid skier, Doug spent his early years as a ski instructor. He served two years in the Army and while stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he met Brenda. They were married in 1963 and made their home in Louisville and later Lexington, KY. After retirement, they split their time between Lake Herrington, KY and Sanibel Island, FL, finally settling in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed. May he rest in eternal peace.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Griffey Eldredge; his daughters, Kristal E. Alley and husband Steve Alley, Andrea E. Hounshell and husband Rob Hounshell; grandchildren, Kelsey Hounshell, Jake Hounshell, Payton Alley, Avery Alley, and Benton Hounshell.
