Donald Lynn Pennington, 61, of Supply, NC passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from complications of Covid19.

Born in Kannapolis, NC on the 27th of March 1960, Donnie was a son of the late George and Mildred Gordon Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Pennington and two sisters, Sherry Donaldson and Carol Gatton.

He had a strong Christian faith and was a past member of First Baptist Church of Shallotte where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, an usher, VBS assistant and assisted with several plays and skits over the years. Donnie was currently a active member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher and assisted with the VBS. He was a past member of the Shallotte Point Volunteer Fire Department. Donnie was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed hunting, fishing, searching for treasure with his metal detector and looking for shells on the beach.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Hales Pennington; a daughter, Melissa P. Sullivan and husband Jonathan of Supply, a granddaughter, Breanna Sullivan; three brothers, Steve Pennington and wife Cathy of Concord, NC, Jeff Pennington and wife Vicki of Kannapolis, NC, Donnie's twin brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Pennington of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Sandy Garver and husband John of China Grove, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews as well as extended family and many friends.

Private graveside services will take place in the Old Shallotte Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Rory Thigpen officiating.
