Donald Charles Keyes, 76, of Shallotte, NC, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Donald was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on June 9, 1947, and was one of two children born to the late Ira Charles and Rebecca McCandless Keyes. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Keyes Dapra of Charlotte, NC and a infant daughter, Kiley Keyes.

Donald graduated from Oakmont High School and then joined the US Air Force. Donand met and married the love of his life, Patty Guiciardi Keyes and were married for forty-four years. They moved to Shallotte in 1984 and he was employed as a supervisor with Cape Fear Public Utilities until his retirement in 2011.

In addition to his wife, Patty Guiciardi Keyes, he is survived by his daughter, Minde Vince Thompson, (Brandon); grandson, Cole Thompson all of Shallotte, NC, along with several nieces and nephews.

To honor his wishes, no memorial services will be held.
