Donald Ray Gore passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 78, with the love of his family surrounding him.

Donald was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1946 to Edna and William Gore.  He will be forever remembered by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Leonard Gore; children, Ray Lyles (Regina),   Lesley Gore (Mike Cox), Beth Gore and Cheryl Gore; grandchildren, Austin Lyles (Taryn), Dylan Lyles (Makayla), Tala Cox, Spencer Ramseur, Cole Ramseur, Raylan Herring and Declan Herring; great-grandchildren,  Jasper, Xander, Carter and Cyris Lyles; sisters, Doris Ross, Geraldine Milliken, brother-in-law; Gene A. Bennett, sister-in-law; Trudy Gore Freeman and numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Sonny Gore (Gladys), JC Gore, sisters, Helen Bennett, Patsy Pittard, brother-in-law, Jason Ross and his parents, Edna and William Gore.

Donald was an avid fisherman, wood craftsman and had a passion for classic cars.  If he wasn't fishing, you could always find him working in his garage on his car or building something out of wood for himself or a friend or family member.  He had a heart of gold and would always help anyone in need.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, December 22 at Jennies Branch Baptist Church, 5256 Beach Dr. SW, Shallotte, NC 28470.
