Don L. Korpela, 80, of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Chicago, IL on June 13, 1942 but raised in Virginia, MN; he was a son of the late Richard and Lucille Louma Korpela. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vikki Camille Korpela.

Don was a US Navy veteran and was retired from the US Government.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 46 years, Lillian Barcelona Korpela; his daughter, Lisa Dawn Korpela of Minneapolis, MN; and a granddaughter, Ariyon Kelly.

Memorial services will be private.
