Daniel Alcala Romero, age 57, of Leland North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 following an extended illness.  He spent more than half his life in the United States and was a concrete finisher by trade. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, flea markets, but mostly spending time with his granddaughters.

He was born in Mexico City, Mexico to the late Carlos Alcala Osorio and Isabel Romero Nieves.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Esteben Alcala Romero, Lorenzo Alcala Romero, and Jorge Alcala Romero.

Surviving is Towanna Neal, his significant other of 22 years; Step-daughter Ashley Greenleaf (Michael) who he loved as his own; two granddaughters, Olivia and Anastyn Greenleaf who loved their Papa beyond measure

He is also survived by two sisters, Martha Acala Romero and Maria Guadalupe Acala Romero; two brothers, Carlos Angel Acala Romero and Arturo Acala Romero and many special nieces and nephews.

Daniel was honored to have a special Aunt and Uncle in his life that he dearly loved: Uncle Fred and Aunt Cheryl Mintz.
