Betty McCorkle Wasser, 92, of Coastal Pointe Assisted Living, Shallotte, NC passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 after a time of declining health.

Betty was born in Greenville, PA on December 2, 1930 to the late John "Jack" Martin and Frances Gertrude Baker McCorkle. Additionally, She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl W. Fell, and brother John "Sonny" McCorkle, surviving one sister, Joan (McCorkle) Mowry (Dan).

She was a longtime member of both St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenville, PA as well as St. Brendan Catholic Church, Shallotte, NC. Betty was a 1948 graduate of St. Michael's High School, Greenville, Pa. She worked at Greenville Dental Clinic, L.L.Keck & Sons Dept. Store, Volunteered at Sheltered Treasures, Calabash, NC, and was office volunteer at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, Shallotte, NC. Betty enjoyed working with the public.

Betty was warm and friendly who enjoyed conversation and made you feel comfortable. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was proud of them. Holiday gatherings with extended family including great food, along with laughter and viewing home movies was a favorite. Betty kept physically active throughout her life, swimming, bike riding, or walking in her neighborhood. She loved the beach and enjoyed the warmth of the sun and would bring a few slices of bread for the seagulls. Her sense of adventure led her to explore many beautiful areas in our country and abroad to a few tropical Islands. Riding on motorcycles gave her a sense of freedom and exhilaration once she fearlessly rode one herself. Betty enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing cards and bingo. These moments brought laughter and joy to her life also the appreciation of those who never forgot her while she was living at Costal Pointe, the phone calls and visits were much appreciated.

Surviving are her beloved children, Kathleen J. Fell of Sunset Beach, NC, Terry F. Paetow (Harold) of Pheonix, AZ, Tracy F. Frech (Joseph) of Sarasota, FL, Dennis J. Fell (Pam) of Sunset Beach, NC and Christopher E. Fell (Vonna) of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, William J Fike of Pheonix, AZ, Joseph L. Frech of Norfolk, VA, Megan F. Frech of Greenbelt, MD, Danielle T. Collins (Ed) Sewalls Point, FL;great grandchildren, Cassie E. Collins & Katie D. Collins both of Gainsville, FL, William N. Fike, Lilly E. Fike both of Pheonix, AZ; cousins, Jean (Baker Woods, Jerry Baker, Patrick Baker (Jean), William Baker (Lynn) and many wonderful nephews and nieces.

Mass of Christian Burial by Fr. Ray Gramata will be Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, PA. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
