Alfred Franklin McLaurin, 65, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 in the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia, NC following a lengthy illness. Born in Scotland County, NC on March 13, 1959, Al was a son of the late John Melvin McLaurin and Mrs. Martha Lee Finch Benton of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. In addition to his father, Al was preceded in death by his stepfather, William "Bill" Benton. He was a loving husband, father, and loved by all who new him. Al was a graduate of West Brunswick High School, and was owner-operator of Carolina Vinyl. He also enjoyed being on the water fishing on the "Lindsey K" with family and friends. Always the life of the party, he will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his mother Martha F. Benton are his loving wife, Kathy May McLaurin; two daughters, Lindsey McLaurin, Allee McLaurin; a sister, Elisabeth M. Powell and husband Mike; two brothers, John McLaurin, Finch McLaurin; and several extended family members. In keeping with Al's wishes a private celebration of life was held in his memory.
